  • Scope

The scope of the Symposium includes the main topics covered by the following Technical Committees:

  • TC1 Education and Training in Measurement and Instrumentation
  • TC7 Measurement Science
  • TC13 Measurements in Biology and Medicine
  • The Symposium follows the tradition of the previous events of this well established series.

There will be a special emphasis on measurement science behind safety and security, to highlight the relevance and impact of measurement science on our daily lives, in multiple fields, e.g., civil engineering structures, correct dosimetry in ionizing radiation, or facial recognition. Emerging areas in metrology will be explored, and the interdisciplinary nature of measurement science and its wide range of applicability will be promoted. Three invited keynote lectures from renowned scientists will contribute to underline the transversality of measurement science.

    Symposium Themes
  • Fundamentals of Measurement Science.
  • Vocabulary of Measurement Science.
  • Measurement Uncertainty.
  • Measurement in Physics and Engineering.
  • Measurement in Social Sciences.
  • Measurement in Life Sciences.
  • Measurement in Everyday Life.
  • Measurement Education.
